Calculate the longitudinal stress, the circumferential stress, and the maximum shear stresses (out-of-plane and in-plane) at the outer surface of the tank. General Instruction for Section 8.3: To solve the problems for Section 8.3, assume that the given radius or diameter is an inside dimension and that all internal pressures are gage pressures.
