Data from Table for Prob. 4.33 and 4.34: Aluminum: Modulus of elasticity \(E_{al} = 70 \text{ GPa}\), Allowable stress \(\sigma_{al} = 100 \text{ MPa}\) Brass: Modulus of elasticity \(E_{br} = 105 \text{ GPa}\), Allowable stress \(\sigma_{br} = 160 \text{ MPa}\) Dimensions from Fig. P4.33: The bar has a total width of \(30 \text{ mm}\). It consists of a middle aluminum layer \(30 \text{ mm}\) thick and two brass layers (top and bottom), each \(6 \text{ mm}\) thick.
