Determine (a) the largest torque $T$ that can be applied at $A$ if the allowable shearing stress is not to be exceeded in sleeve $CD$, (b) the corresponding required value of the diameter $d_s$ of spindle $AB$. Given data from diagram: Sleeve outer diameter, $D_{CD} = 3 \text{ in.}$ Sleeve wall thickness, $t = \frac{1}{4} \text{ in.} = 0.25 \text{ in.}$ Steel allowable stress, $\tau_{all, steel} = 12 \text{ ksi}$ Brass allowable stress, $\tau_{all, brass} = 7 \text{ ksi}$
