1.3-8 A plane truss has a pin support at \(F\) and a roller support at \(D\) (see figure). (a) Find reactions at both supports. (b) Find the axial force in truss member \(FE\). Given from the figure: - Horizontal distances: \(AB = 3 \text{ m}\), \(BC = 3 \text{ m}\), \(CD = 3 \text{ m}\). - Vertical distances: \(AG = 4.5 \text{ m}\), distance from top chord to joint \(E = 3 \text{ m}\), distance from joint \(E\) to bottom reference line = \(1 \text{ m}\). - Applied vertical loads: \(9 \text{ kN}\) at joint \(B\), \(6 \text{ kN}\) at joint \(C\), and \(3 \text{ kN}\) at joint \(D\).
